Top Western corporate media outlets have spent years spreading a conspiracy theory called “Havana Syndrome,” claiming without any evidence that Russia, China, and/or Cuba were systematically attacking US spies and diplomats with futuristic microwave technology and directed-energy weapons.
The CIA itself admitted in January 2022 that there was absolutely no proof of this, and its scientific experts concluded that Havana Syndrome is not caused by attacks by foreign adversaries. They found normal medical explanations for the condition’s very vague symptoms.
CIA Director William Burns himself has now publicly acknowledged that Havana Syndrome is not a result of attacks, in comments first reported by Kawsachun News.
In an interview with NBC News Correspondent Andrea Mitchell at the Aspen Security Forum on July 20, the CIA director rejected the myriad mainstream media articles that blamed Havana Syndrome on Russia, China, and/or Cuba.
“We don’t assess that a foreign player or the Russians or anyone else is behind or is responsible for a sustained global campaign on the scale of what has been reported to harm U.S. personnel, with a weapon or some kind of external device,” Burns said.
“In the majority of incidents – and we’ve, you know, investigated each one as thoroughly as we possibly can, and we’re still working on a number of them – that, you know, you could find reasonable alternative explanations, whether it was other environmental factors, or preexisting medical conditions, or other kind of medical explanations,” he added.
Geopolitical Economy Report documented some of the blatantly false Havana Syndrome conspiracies spread by major corporate media outlets.
CIA’s ‘Havana Syndrome’ conspiracy implodes: Here are media’s worst fake news stories
In January, Geopolitical Economy Report interviewed Doctor Robert Bartholomew, a medical sociologist and leading expert on mass hysteria and social panics.
In 2020, Bartholomew published a book titled “Havana Syndrome: Mass Psychogenic Illness and the Real Story Behind the Embassy Mystery and Hysteria,” which accurately predicted that the condition was psychological and was not caused by foreign attacks.

Microwave attacks are invisible and mimic aging (which can’t be medically diagnosed). To prove it, you’d have to get a letter from the attacker admitting to the attack. Not gonna happen.

Ah, so it’s totally non-falsifiable. That seems highly practical, if say you’re a genocidal and imperialistic super-power who want to manufacture consent for hostile actions against a foreign government. Why not up the game?
Let’s take Biden’s constant gaffes, his bike accident and the fact that the man shows signa of severe dementia (on top his lifelong stupidity). Could be that the Russians have developed a mind control gun that slowly fries the prident’s brain. Possible attached to some of those russki sattelites.
That way Putin can blast Joe with a mindmelting ray-beam at will. Come to think of it. Isn’t suspicious that Amnesty released a report detailing some of Ukraine’s (many and well documented) war crimes when it’s been more or less a perfect cheerleader for NATO and Ukraine before this?
If Putin has this hypno-ray device (as un-named officials suspect) why wouldn’t he use it on people like Amnesty researchers, so they’ll produce Russian disinformation without even knowing it? Putin might even use the Russian hypno-ray to influence the coming US mid-term elections. In fact, all opposition to and dissent from the current government position, corporate media narrative and Pentagon/military industry view might be due to Russian mind control.
There would be no physical effects and it would naturally be impossible to prove this medically. The only way to prove that Russia is committing these attacks would, of course, be if Putin were to admit it in a Kremlin statement (or perhaps a letter to the White House).
You know what else is scary? Practically all the consumer products we buy today are made in China. What if the Chinese are spraying everything with a DNA-modifier that re-writes your genetic make up and slowly transforms everyone to ethnic Chinese people and dedicated communists. Several intelligence officials familiar with the matter believe the Chinese would most deploy the agent on devices like iPhones. Since there’s no evidence this is even possible it would of course be impossible to prove, bar an official statement (or personal letter) from Xi himself where cops to the whole thing.
